Is anybody having how to find flexural torsional buckling stress as per AISC. It is given in compress but does not shows how the formula is derived what the bases is ? please help me.

RE: flexural torsional buckling stress calculation

Suggest you obtain a copy of the "Steel Construction Manual" published by AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction).

See http://www.aisc.org/store/p-1578-steel-constructio..., or buy an older used Edition with rules for allowable stress design.

RE: flexural torsional buckling stress calculation

To add to Tom's post, you may download the specification portion of the manual from the following website:
http://www.aisc.org/content.aspx?id=2884

From the main page (www.aisc.org), go to "ePubs and freePubs" and then click on "Specifications, Codes and Standards" on the left side. The latest version is "2010 Specification for Structural Steel Buildings (ANSI/AISC 360-10), Second Printing". Older versions are also available.
