Historical Wind Loads

(OP)
I have a remodel project in Houston Texas that was designed in 1958. It is a 16 story steel building. What wind loads would it have been designed for? UBC 1955?

RE: Historical Wind Loads

A quick search turns up this document, showing that the building code in 1963 evidently didn't have a "base" code. You might try some of the local libraries to see if they have older building codes, or contact the city.

RE: Historical Wind Loads

Didn't they used to not design for wind loads? I've seen substantial structures with no reliable LFRS.
