Anchored Solider Pile Wall Design

Anchored Solider Pile Wall Design

(OP)
I am designising a 10 meter high solider pile wall for excavation purposes. I am struggling with the anchor spacing. What is the best method to determine the most efficient anchor vertical spacing. Thinking of using 3 rows of anchors. I am using Wallap for my analyses.

Thanks in advanced.

RE: Anchored Solider Pile Wall Design

There is no one answer.

I generally try and space my anchors so that the moment in the soldier pile is about the same between anchors and below the bottom anchor. That way you are using the soldier pile effectively. Then you have to look at the anchor loads and make sure that they are reasonable for the soil conditions, bar sizes, etc.

Remember to check for adequacy of the soldier beam in all the construction stages. For example, just prior to installing the upper level, mid-level and lower level anchors. Sometimes a chosen steel section will work for 3 levels, but not with one or two level supports.
