Does anybody know where I could find a reference calculation for a 4-bolt extended end plate moment connection? Is it really feasible to have such connection since the AISC only provide examples for 6-bolt and 8-bolt extended end plate moment connections? Thanks in advance.

RE: 4-Bolt Extended End Plate Moment Connection

It is not a US reference but elements for the design of End Plate Moment Connections according to EC3 can be found at

Joints in Steel Construction
Moment Connections
SCI (The Steel Construction Institute) 1995

see especially p. 16 to 23 where how to establish the capacity in tension of bolt patterns is established (the patterns of failure through yield lines and which of them to consider are given).

The reference you gave me really helps a lot. Thanks for your suggestion.
