water-cement ratio

water-cement ratio

water-cement ratio

(OP)
what does the color of the hardened concrete tell us about the water content of the mix, what does it mean when the concrete is too white or when it's gray??? and what's the thickness of a layer of concrete that we can place before we vibrate. when we place fresh concrete, it has to be by layers with each layer properly vibrated, what is the thickness of a single layer. and one last question what is the height of a column that should be placed in one day, and the max length of one span of a beam between columns...thanksssss!!

RE: water-cement ratio

Too many questions with to many variables.

RE: water-cement ratio

General questions get general answers, if any here, and are generally not useable to answer specific questions.

RE: water-cement ratio

Depends a bit on the aggregate, but generally concrete with more cement is more gray... unless you're using Medusa white (G). Often concrete that has less cement (also weaker) tends to be more pale..

Often vibration is for a 4' depth and ACI and COFI (Canada) had max depths of concrete for a normal pour...

Height of column is usually floor to floor... whatever height... and beams should be poured continuously unless there is a properly designed pour joint. Unintended cold joints should be avoided.

Your question is pretty general... but bein' an ol' cat kicker... this is the first kick...
