AUMA-electric actuator

AUMA-electric actuator

AUMA-electric actuator

(OP)
Hi.
During the instalation of the actuator on the valve DN800, the electric contacts are swiched and we didn't notice that until we started actuator. We opened the valve by hand 3-4%, and plan was to open the rest by electric power.
When we press „open“ button, valve started to close (because two electric contacts are replaced). Wery fast valve pass the limit switch for close possition, wich didn't react because „open“ command was actual. In that moment second protection react (torque switch), and turn off the actuator.
When we replace wires, and set evrything how it should be, we try to start actuator once again, but the torque switch does not allow any movement.
Also, we couldnt move the valve by hand wheel because rotation doesn't have any effects.
Did you have any similar expirience wich can help us in this situatuation?
Electricans have idea to „by-pass“ the torque switch and start the motor. On that way, to the baterrfly valve will be given bigger torque (full motor power) to move from the „close“ position. After that, torque switch will be connected again.
Is there any posibility to make biger damage or some other problem with valve...?

RE: AUMA-electric actuator

It sure sounds like the valve is wired wrong.

RE: AUMA-electric actuator

I think before you try opening it electrically again, you need to make sure the valve wasn't backseated so hard that it was damaged. It sure sounds like it might have been (from your statement that you can't manually open the valve.) Get a "hefty" operator and see if you can move that valve off its backseat. If you really can't, then you need to disassemble the valve and FIX it before you try and operate it.

Unless, of course, you want to burn out the motor as well.

RE: AUMA-electric actuator

I think you broke something!!
