Add prefix to new name of assembly and all parts

Add prefix to new name of assembly and all parts

Add prefix to new name of assembly and all parts

(OP)
Hello.

I need to add prefix to name of assembly which contains about 100 parts, also every part needs to have the same prefix.
Is it possible to do it collectively, or what is the best procedure?
Thanks for any answer.

RE: Add prefix to new name of assembly and all parts

I believe Save as Copy can do the trick you can attach a prefix string to apply to each part and save to same or new folder with the updated names.

Will post more details if required but give that suggestion a try.

I know Save as Copy feature. But i think, it's not going to satisfied my requirements.

1. In Save as Copy I have found just USE SUFFIX and I need preffix.
2. In this feature I can see all tree of assembly and I have to select on every part, If I want to reused the name or give it the new name. And this is really useless. I will NOT to choose this on every part!

RE: Add prefix to new name of assembly and all parts

That should be quite easy using Save Copy As...

There are a couple of options for renaming, and I use the one where I specify a string to replace with. Just highlight all components, enter the replace string, apply, and review the results before making the replace.

Are you by chance using an older revision of the software?
