BITUMEN AND PETROLEUM PRODUCT PIPELINE

BITUMEN AND PETROLEUM PRODUCT PIPELINE

BITUMEN AND PETROLEUM PRODUCT PIPELINE

(OP)
Good day,

I would like to know if Bitumen and Petroleum products' pipeline can run side by side. and if yes what will be the safe distance apart.

I would like to have any reference document please.

RE: BITUMEN AND PETROLEUM PRODUCT PIPELINE

Of course they can run side by side.
Safe distance depends on diameter of each pipeline.
Adequate distance between pipelines is usually determined by space requirements that may be necessary to make repairs to one without requiring approval of repair plans, or supervision by the other pipeline's owners, or in any way physically affecting the other pipeline.
It also depends on location. What may be safe onshore, is probably wholely indadequate offshore or at a river crossing.
