Can i repair a code vessel to API 510 then the next repair to NBIC?

(OP)
A couple questions guys . . . .
1. If i have an ASME Code stamped vessel and i perform a repair per API 510, the API 510 repair doesn't "Void" the U-stamp correct?
2. Can i use an "R" stamp company for the next repair (if needed) or do i have to continue on the API 510 path?

RE: Can i repair a code vessel to API 510 then the next repair to NBIC?

First, you need to determine if the pressure vessel is located in a Jurisdiction that regulates pressure vessels. If they do regulate pressure vessels and the object is located in the US, most likely the NBIC would be the repair standard. The U-stamp cannot be voided because this is issued from original construction of the vessel. Certain Jurisdictions do allow API codes for repair as well as the NBIC.
If the Jurisdiction does not regulate pressure vessels, you can use either repair code and switching from one to another is permitted.
