Links not saving from "Folder of the pointing document"

Links not saving from "Folder of the pointing document"

Links not saving from "Folder of the pointing document"

(OP)
Currently among 10 or so contractors on CATIA I am the only one who has my Tools/Options/General/Document "Folder of the pointing document" set above or higher priority than "Folder of the link."

What happened today was when someone else opened one of my .CATProducts it would link to different .CATParts than when I opened the same file on my computer. Now I understand initially why this would happen, but if I open that same file then "Save As" that file somewhere else, and someone opens that file the same thing happens. The .CATProduct retains its old links, I would have thought that the file should retain the links shown on my computer seeing as how I am the one who saved it.

Straight from CATIA help: "Folder of the link: provides the absolute path which was saved in the link, i.e. the path used when you saved your document."

Well, it is not retaining "the path used when you saved your document." kinda frustrated on this one. Is there a setting somewhere I am missing that will allow me to save over the old links?

Thank you,
Brett

RE: Links not saving from "Folder of the pointing document"

Hello

at first, avoid using Save As, if You need to save particular Parts and Products use Save Management - all Parents products will be saved automatically to avoid those situations.

I hope it helps
with regards from Poland
