circulating pump
circulating pump
(OP)
Hi everybody,
I am new at this forum and I am not sure if I am writing on the right forum.
I have found in internet that a circulating pump is used to circulate water back to the boiler after it has expelled some of its heat. The water is separated after the evaporator and inserted again in the boiler before the economizer.
Which are the mass and enthalpy balance equations corresponding to the circulating pump?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Lara

RE: circulating pump
m_in = m_out
and the enthalpy balance is
m_in h_in + W = m_out h_out
Is W the work realized by the pump? Which are the mass and enthalpy balance in the separator and before the economizer where the water come back to the boiler?
RE: circulating pump
Is this an actual work related problem? I am asking this for two reasons:
1) You stated that you found "on the Internet" what a circulating pump was used for. And
2) Your questions are very elementary.
This makes me think you are either not an engineer or this is a school-related question. If you have a work-related problem, people are generally more helpful if you describe the problem. Otherwise, searching the Internet on some of the other terms might answer your questions. (And if it's a school assignment, perhaps you should read the posting guidelines.)
