Hi All,

I am modelling a pressure hose with small steel reinforcements in it. Actually we are using the solid-shell element 190 with LINEAR material properties which are a little bit ORTHOTROPIC (ratio ca.2/1). Because of the hookean law which is used with the element we can not represent the really orthotropic hose. You can divide and calculate the ratio: EXsteel=210 000 MPa / EXrubber 10 MPa.

Could anyone please try to find (examples or theory) which ratio, in the both direction, can be MAX. reached with our modeling, using a layered element.

I'm not sure how is correct to call this ratio??? EX/EY ratio is just a suggestion.
