Fatigue Analysis of valve

Fatigue Analysis of valve

Fatigue Analysis of valve

(OP)
Hi !
Is fatigue analysis of valve required / applicable as per ASME B31.3 Chapter IX para K304.8?

If I want to carry out this analysis as per ASME B31.3 and ASME sec VIII Div 2 part 5, what are the load conditions I have to consider for failure other than pressure boundary?

There are lot of 'categories' of valve failuere / non performance. Which shall be considered singularly or in combination for fatigue analysis?

My experience shows similar valves are working fine but its hard to convince 'new piping engineers' who rely more on FEA and software results.

Any help will be appreciated.
