Pressure drop across a direct steam injector

Pressure drop across a direct steam injector

(OP)
Hi,

I'm currently designing out some equipment using direct steam injection to heat a liquid food product. I was wondering what the best way to calculate the pressure drop across the injector.

I'm currently calculating it using the bernoulli equation with the primary losses and secondary losses (with an estimated K value) included, but I would like to try and get my calculations as accurate as possible.

Would this be the best way to go about it? Has anyone worked with direct steam injectors before?
