Sheet Metal Flunge Problem (extra gap appears)

Sheet Metal Flunge Problem (extra gap appears)

(OP)
hi all, im trying to learn metal sheet functionality of SW2012. So far so good, but i got stuck with strange behavior. I wanted to extend area for flunge so it covers my other sides. Basically there is extra gap added to the other side of my sketch and i can not get rid of it no matter what i do :( and because of that gap i have my screw hole messed up :(
So maybe some one can help me out with this as i dont know what to do? Tnx a lot!

RE: Sheet Metal Flunge Problem (extra gap appears)

Are you referring to Edge-Flange1 where the cut-out breaks into the hole near it?

You're using the material outside option under Flange Position, which in the location you have it will add a relief (small cut-out) to make the flange fold-able. Without this relief, the metal can't be bent. Play about with the buttons in that setting and you'll see how it changes. You'll need to either use the bend outside option or re-jig your geometry to make it work another way.

Hope this helps.
