Doubt in drafting

Doubt in drafting

Doubt in drafting

(OP)
Hi

In ug drafting all my views are in 1:2, But dimensions are in in 1:1 upto here everything is fine , When I exported through 2d exchanger
and open in autocad and trying to given dimensions, but all dimesion are in 1:2 not in 1:1 why?

Thanks

RE: Doubt in drafting

In Autocad are dimensioning in Paper Space or Model Space? What is your Dimscale set to in Autocad? I think it is your Dim Style settings in Autocad.

Model speace dimensions are 1:2 showing,

RE: Doubt in drafting

Is your 1:2 view showing in Model space scaled appropriately if so you will need to create a new dimension style and change the "scale factor" from 1 to .5 to get your dimensions value to display correctly.

RE: Doubt in drafting

It's possible that your views aren't the same scale as your sheet

Double click "sheet" in the part navigator while in the drawing and look what scale it is.

You can avoid this problem by first setting the scale of the sheet, and then putting the views in.

NX 7.5.5.4 with Teamcenter 8 on win7 64

RE: Doubt in drafting

In NX, it exports views according to scale factor. If exporting a drawing using 2d exchange and the views are drawn at half scale, the corresponding system...ie. Autocad will read in the drawing at that scale. It's a beef I've always had with it. In todays day an age why would someone send a drawing at a different scale than what it is. To me it just leads to problems. If I were building something and I recieved a drawing, without any dimensions, I would build it at thes scale I received it. Leaves too much for ineterpretation, I've hated NX for this form day 1......12 years ago.
