extruding a box in NX 7.5

extruding a box in NX 7.5

(OP)
Hello,
I have a cylinder and I would like to extrude a box out of the side of it. I am using NX 7.5. How can I go about doing this?

Thanks.

RE: extruding a box in NX 7.5

You will have to put the sketch on a flat datum plane typically on the cylinder's axis

Makes sense, thank you. Now, is it possible to tilt a datum plane slightly so that the box can be extruded on an angle? If so, how?

RE: extruding a box in NX 7.5

Maybe post a sketch of what you need

RE: extruding a box in NX 7.5

Have a look at the attached model. If you have a datum csys as your base feature, then you can click the datum plane button, select one of the planes of the datum csys and an axis you wish to tilt it around. Then specify the angle. You can then sketch on this plane and extrude the box shape.

Hohpe this helps

Cheers

Si.

Best regards
