jet fan ( impulse fan ) ventilation system

Dear All,

I have to design a car park with the ductless system, like impulse fan ( Jet Fan ) Ventilation System.
I have searched for designing criteria of the jet fan vantilation system... But all i found is that it is designed on the basis of cfd analysis.... can any one guide/Help me out on this system?

Hire an Engineer who is familiar with ventilation.

RE: jet fan ( impulse fan ) ventilation system

yes, that is almost all you can get.

once you decide on some of jet fan manufacturers, you should arrange with them that they deliver cfd analysis, which can be prepaid by client and subtracted from fan price once client processes the purchase.

than you can use their cfd as basis for your design. i mean that is not exactly their cfd, normally jet fan manufacturers have long term contract with some cfd lab and can get large discount.

the other way is that you convince client to order cfd directly from some lab, pays it and than you use it as basis for design. that should be normal course, but i never ever saw it in practice, because prices are prohibitive.

for the reasons described, i am pretty reluctant to design ventilation with jet fans in car parks at all, but clients want it more and more, that has become fashion.

jet fans are indispensable for tunnels and similar application, but i never saw their cost effectiveness in car parks compared to classic system. maybe, in countries where ductwork fitter costs are very high, justification can be made easier.
