I was wondering whther anyone has tried the program 2D Truss Analysis by Engissol.
It seems promissing for the analysis of plane trusses.

Please share your opinion.

RE: 2D Truss Analysis application

Not that one - but most are just fine if used correctly. Kind of double check reactions, maybe one or two memeber forces until you are comfortable.

RE: 2D Truss Analysis application

Maybe you gentlemen can help me out. I have a program named 2D_Plane_Frames.exe on my computer. It was created Dec. 11, 2001 and is run from the command prompt. I have no idea where I got it, the programmer, etc. Any ideas?

RE: 2D Truss Analysis application

I've used engissol, it seems fine. I've been in contact with the developers, sounds like they will be adding more features in the upcoming version 3.0. Hopefully it will make the program more user friendly.

Thank you all for the feedback, I also think 2D Truss Analysis by Engissol is what I need.

RE: 2D Truss Analysis application

I didn't mention it before, but if you can afford it, I recommend RISA 2D. It is significantly easier to use and more powerful. It also contains material and common section libraries. If you just need the truss analysis ability for little cash, than engissol is an alright solution.
