Pneumatic test for hole (PAD)

Pneumatic test for hole (PAD)

Pneumatic test for hole (PAD)

(OP)
Good morning,

Please advise me, why after fabrication work the pneumatic test for hole (PAD) for the piping reinforcement is not required by the ASME B31.3 code?
In the case of reinforced nozzle storage tank, it is required by the API 650 code,

Thanks for the help,

Best regards,
R.B (Mechanical Engineer).

RE: Pneumatic test for hole (PAD)

I think the possible reason could be that in small dia piping you do not have access to apply soap solution from back side and check weld leakage. There must be some replacement to it.
