Drawing note

Drawing note

Drawing note

(OP)
Hello,
I am hoping someone can help me with understanding what this drawing note means as I have never used it before. There is a note for a clinch nut being installed into a piece of aluminum sheet metal and the note says Insert From From side.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Richard

RE: Drawing note

Yup, me too. Likely "Insert from Far side" but that's just a guess.

RE: Drawing note

Makes perfect sense.

There is a from side and a to side.

It should be obvious that you need to start at the from side, so the note is unnecessary.

RE: Drawing note

Could be “formed” side.

Still doesn’t make much sense unless drawing mentions some forming tool applied to certain side.
