Metal for ultra low sulfur in oxygen process stream

Metal for ultra low sulfur in oxygen process stream

Metal for ultra low sulfur in oxygen process stream

(OP)
I need some help on selecting the metallurgy of sample tubing for an oxygen stream with extremely low sulfur concentrations, 1~2 ppb. The metal needs to be something that will not absorb the sulfur so that we can analyze the process stream. Even a few ppb of sulfur can damage the catalyst that we are running in the system.

RE: Metal for ultra low sulfur in oxygen process stream

PFA?

I assume that won't work, because your temperature is too high (you mentioned a catalyst). Maybe you would like to tell us the temperature and expected gas composition so we can give you a better guess?

RE: Metal for ultra low sulfur in oxygen process stream

If it is a high temperature catalyst,my guess is it is Nickel, and Ni has very high affinity to sulphur, readily forming nickel sulphide.

The process stream will almost pure oxygen and will be ~600 F.
