Can I use Flowseal butterfly valve for Thermal Oil (Paratherm HE) on/off service?
Can I use Flowseal butterfly valve for Thermal Oil (Paratherm HE) on/off service?
(OP)
Flowseal high performance butterfly valve trims:
Seat: RPTFE
Disc: 316
Shaft: 17-4PH
Body: WCB (ANSI 150CLASS)
Is there any risk to use the valve for oil service?
Thanks

RE: Can I use Flowseal butterfly valve for Thermal Oil (Paratherm HE) on/off service?
The only one source able to give you a verified answer for th whole construction is the valve producer. You have to provide the full flow details. In addition to pressure, temperature, operational modes and variations, and chemical properties a layout sketch could be interesting for the purpose.
Apart from this: there are temperature limits and some chemical limits to RPTFE (but far above EPDM, for instance), so given operation within general valve and sealing limits, the answer is probably yes.
