I have to specify internal surface protection for a carbon steel filter. The filter is working on a very high pressure (180 barg) and 80 °C temperature and is working with injection water an high percentage of chlorides.
To protect the internal surface I would suggest to use a cladding material like AISI 316 since a very high pressure service is usually not indicated for internal lining like glass flake or other lining material.
Anyway the Enginnering company has suggested the Vendor to use the glass flake. I'm not agree with this decision and my opinion is to go ahead with internal cladding, are you agree?

Your determination is very strong and should be supported with a little bit of engineering.
The 316 cladding at 80 degt C and high??! percentage of chlorides is not suitable for your application. Please review the engineering recommendations for limits of use that 316 stainless steel in your environment. Perhaps a safe option could be the glass flake cladding or higher alloy cladding material for your filter.
If you'd give us the 'high percentage' chlorides value, I'm sure you could get some real good advice from this forum, plus the chance to learn some corrosion protection.

I agree with you, internal linings during depressurization will not sustain. Further just to support your claim check if there is any Full vacuum design requirement wherin this internal linings will not survive for sure.
