I created a guide curve and used it to sweep a surface with z-axis reference direction. Now, I want to use the guide curve to create a parallel curve using the sweep as the support and a Law (created from a sketch) to change the height of the curve. As long as the sweep/guide curve do not self intersect/corss over itself it works fine. Why won't the parallel curve work properly when the sweep self intersects? Is this just not possible? Is there a work around (maybe something other than parallel curve)?

When in the parallel command if you click on the arrow along the Spline.3 curve to flip it's direction you get more of the parallel. It does still double back on it's self. Basically I do not believe that the command can handle a self intersection support. Basically if you split your support into 3 pieces then join it back together it all works out. Please see the attached model. I hope this helps.
