Autocad 2012 menubar and profiles

Autocad 2012 menubar and profiles

(OP)
Oddball question.... we're running Autocad 2012 (will be updating to 2013 before too long, but not there yet)

On a few of the machines, we have a profile a client sent us that acts differently between machines.

Version 1: We load the arg file, and everything loads correctly, switching back and forth between that client profile, and our standard company profile. On another machine, following the exact same steps, load profile and switch to it, and no ribbon shows, so we turn the ribbon back on, and dock it, lock it.
Close down, restart autocad, ribbon is gone again.

Version 2: We load the arg file, and switch back and forth between profiles, everything appears to work. Except the menubar. We have both profiles loaded, and menubar set to 1. Switch between profiles, and the menubar disappears, even though "menubar" is still set to 1. Restart autocad, and menubar resets to 0. Reset to 1, and restart cad, again, resets to 0.

Anyone run across it not saving settings like this? Are these related? Any hints?

RE: Autocad 2012 menubar and profiles

Did you set your profile on the other machine current? I am assuming that the profile selection is the one found in the option dialog box.

Yep, set profiles current, switching back and forth, etc. Have tried it with both double-clicking, and the "Set current" button, just in case there was some goofball glitch from doing it one way vs another.

Same results as listed above.

RE: Autocad 2012 menubar and profiles

In ACAD, go tothe help folder and select profile>making current and read that section, it could be what you are lookingfor.
