I'm trying to understand recloser control curve modifiers. Can anyone explain if the constant time adder and minimum response time are affected by the time multiplier, or are they independent of the multiplier? Also, does the multiplier affect the high current trip delay? The literature for the 351R is a little vague and just explains what each control independently does and that the multiplier shifts the whole curve up or down, so I could see it affecting the time adder, but not the minimum time delay or high current trip delay, since these limit the curve to a specific time. Any way, I’m confused. A referance reference to any literature about this topic would be great. I’m also e-mailing the manufacture, just checking to see if anyone had a quick answer. Thanks!

RE: 351R control

calling SEL will likely yield an immediate result. +1.509.332.1890

They are independent, thanks for the tip!

RE: 351R control

Keep that number. SEL's application engineers are pretty darn good at anything you can come up with. If they don't know off the bat, they'll know a collegue that does or they'll figure it out and get back to you quick.
