20" Conductor Casing surface defect (Box End i.e. thread internal)

(OP)
Good day,

We have received 20" Conductor Casing herein UAE from one of the reputed manufacturer and upon inspection, it has been found with some dents at box end (photos attached). Subsequently we contacted to get information on authorized repair shop in middle-east and they informed us that only facilities are available in US and EU countries. Due to short time, we cannot send it to such locations for repair and thus, I need your technical clarification.

Please refer to attached photographs and advise me how to resolve this issue. Can such type of dents/damage be accepted or any remedial measures can we take like filing , testing, machining etc.

Thanks in advance

RE: 20" Conductor Casing surface defect (Box End i.e. thread internal)

Hello,
One way that came to my mind is to do the API-579/ASME-FFS001, fitness for service verification. Depending on the depth and length of the dents and process conditions of your case you should be able to figure out if the equipment can go in service safe or has to be repaired.
Just a thought.
Good Luck.
