Patterning a Scissor type mechanism

Patterning a Scissor type mechanism

(OP)
I am trying to use linear pattern to create a long chain of a simple scissor type mechanism with little luck. I have tried everything I can possibly think of with my limited knowledge of solidworks, use of center line for pattern reference, use of axis, adjusting possition, etc. Thanks for any help that anyone can provide.

RE: Patterning a Scissor type mechanism

Given the way your main bar was fixed in the assembly, I created a sketch between the two 'X' centerpoints and used that as my direction to pattern. Set my spacing at 9", selected the components to sketch and it patterned just fine.
