According to API 521 Addendum May 2008 we may take credit for the insulation only if the insulation meets the fire proof definition. Often equipment insulation are intended for weather insulation and not fire. If we want to take credit, we need to confirm that the insulation meets the fire proof definition which includes materials requirement and installation requirement (requirements are shown in point 5.15.5).
I would like to know to know if the mineral fiber insulation with aluminium jacketing is normally taken credit per API 521 requirements (point 5.15.5). I have attached the pages. Please help. Thanks
