Hello Everybody,

I am trying to analyse a composite tube impacted by a certain mass (22 kg) drop at a height of 3 m (velocity = 7.7 m/s)using Strand7 nonlinear transient dynamic solver. I need to find out the dynamic load to be applied on the tube. Are there mathematical equations that define the relationship between the static load (m x g) to the dynamic load (drop at a height of 3 m)?. Obviously, dynamic load should be higher than the static load. In my experiment, the dynamic load is 33 times higher than the static load when impacted by 22 kg at 3 m height.

It depends on the materials involved and the impact time. The shorter the impact time, the higher the acceleration. Conservation of energy
