Stumbled across this info which looks to answer all your pump questions. 100 + pages ranging from basics onwards. Well worth a look.

RE: Everything you will ever need to understand pumps

Thank you Artisi, that looks like a good fine and it was very nice of you.

Best to you,

RE: Everything you will ever need to understand pumps

Thanks Artisi.

Did you write this personally or is there a source or sources that you can share?

SNORGY.
Not my work, was searching for info on air-entainment and stumbled across this. It came up on a link that was completely unrelated to its heading.
No author, reference or any further info.

RE: Everything you will ever need to understand pumps

I guess I will read through it carefully and keep the stuff I agree with and ignore the stuff that I don't, then. Thanks though.

RE: Everything you will ever need to understand pumps

Wow, someone put a lot of work into that.

Thanks for sharing Artisi. A star for 'ya.

RE: Everything you will ever need to understand pumps

That look very similar to my final year project...

I'm not claiming it to be mine, but I did a FYP on the correlation of axial thrust in water pumps. The background data was very similar, that's all.

A very good reference document none the less...

RE: Everything you will ever need to understand pumps

File|Info in Word says the author was Wessex Water and the document was last modified by Ian & Muay. Since I'm in California, I don't know either party. I was able to find Wessex Water on the Internet but not Ian & Muay.
