Eliminate stress concentration in ANSYS 13

Eliminate stress concentration in ANSYS 13

Eliminate stress concentration in ANSYS 13

(OP)
hi, i'm using ansys 13 and try to see stress distribution on human teeth. But i have very high stress value at the surface which I'm applied the load. can someone help me how to avoid the stress concentration in my work? Thanks

RE: Eliminate stress concentration in ANSYS 13

don't apply a point load ... distribute it over an area

I have applied distribution load on area, but the stress concentration still occur on that area.

RE: Eliminate stress concentration in ANSYS 13

if you're applying the load in a realistic manner, then why do you think you're getting unrealistic results ?

if the stress peak is going beyond the yield of the material ('cause you're using a linear stress analysis) then use non-linear.

yes, i am using multiple material definitions.. the stress concentration is not occur at material boundary...

RE: Eliminate stress concentration in ANSYS 13

another guess ... are you sure the mesh is continuous ?

give us a pic, tell us why you think the stress peak is unrealistic ...

could try applying the load through a series of springs which have a stiffness value say half the depth of the teeth
