ASME PCC-2

ASME PCC-2

ASME PCC-2

(OP)
Hi,
I would like to use ASME PCC-2 as a repair guideline for B31.1 piping systems. However I cannot find a reference to it in B31.1. It is not listed as an adopted standard in my jusrisdiction (British Columbia, Canada). Does that mean I can't use it?

RE: ASME PCC-2

Because, B31.1 Power Piping Code mainly deals with new construction of power piping systems. In-service repair can default to either API or NBIC. Chapter 7 of B31.1, which was recently introduced into code text, deals with condition monitoring.

If you use the NBIC for in-service repair of B31.1 piping, the NBIC does list the ASME PCC as a standard.
