(OP)
Hello,

I m burak başdağ , I worked in a factory about producing BOPP(biaxially oriented polypropylene). We use thin screw extruder and in during production sometimes we encounter with ''O'' hole in streched film. It is happening not so much but, it is important continuous process. Capacity for one day 200 tones.

May be reason thin screw ekstruder?

is there any person to share his/her ideas with me and help us for brain storming for short time

thanks

BOPP Production Engineer.

RE: coming ''O'' hole in Biaxially oriented polypropylene production time

From the little that I do understand about film extruding, this is likely caused by contamination, specks of debris that are in the feedstock to begin with, or getting carried into the feedstock from dirt or contamination in the machine.

There are some other people who post regularly in this forum that are very knowledgeable in the field of plastics who will likely have better detailed information for you.

It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all.

I think you mean TWIN SCREW EXTRUDER.

By "o" hole I think you mean a very small round hole.

I don't know if BOPP is blown and stretched or cast and stretched. I expect blown. If so I agree with ornery.

Pat

Hi, i worked in a Bopp plant for 10 years. Tha cause of boles in film, can be several, only ones can be:

Raw material:
Some contamination
Reprocessed material poor quality

Machine:
Electrical resistance damaged, can be burning tha pp or additives
Screw dirty, can be necessary clean
Filter, can be broken

Management:
Overtemperature that can be burning pp or additives

There are much causes, the análisis, is more comletely,
