how can a tabulated drawing be made?

how can a tabulated drawing be made?

how can a tabulated drawing be made?

(OP)
We're moving from the e2D world (where we've been for 20+ years) to the world of 3D & NX/Teamcenter. we've been converting our 2D drawings to parts, assemblies etc and now we've reached the items we have been avoiding. So, I was hopping that some smart people out there would have some ideas on how to approach tabulated drawings of assemblies and parts. I've attached a drawing showing one tabulated (or lined numbered) assembly drawing and one part drawing. It's starting to look like the tabulated assembly drawings can't be done and it will have to be one drawing per assembly. I've looked at making an assembly of the parts and making the BOM the tabulated dimensions and I looked at using p[art families where I embed the spreadsheet in the drawing for the tabulated dimensions. But, I've been told that families don't work well with Tc classification and we're going to start using that module. I've included 2 pictures of the tabulated drawings.
I really would like to keep the part tabulated drawings because it's easy to see the differences between parts and the parts are all the same material. So If the material changes I would only have to change to "seed" part or master part's material and that would then show up in the drawing. we have all our drawings pulling attributes from the models and Tc to populate the drawings.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you looked at using Tabular Notes? Also, there's no problem editing a true dimension so that its text reads 'A' or 'B'.

No, I didn't consider tabulated notes. I thought tabulated notes got the information from a spreadsheet. How would the actual dimensions, 'A', 'B', 'C' be able to to be pulled from the parts into the tabulatd notes?

I've got to quite hitting the Submit Post before I'm done.
I know that the tabulated notes can get attributes from an assembly or a single part but how could it be made to get the attribute dimensions from 10, 20 or 60 parts without the parts being put into a "dummy" assembly where the dimension attributes are taken from each part's object attributes, one at a time

Thanks John. I see how the tabular notes could work. When each model is made, the dimensions are named A, B, C, etc so they're in the expressions. Then all we have to do is, in the drawing, pick the expressions in the Relations tab, link to the part, pick the dimensions A, B etc. and the dimension appears, it will update with a change in the parts dimensions and I don't have to use spreadsheets or part families.

Now, got any suggestions on the tabulated assemblies?
