Hello all
I'm currently looking at customizing our thread table to get rid of the stuff that is not relevant to our company and adding a load more. However rather than spend hours mooching through the machinery handbook, I wondered if any of you would alreay have the data in your tables that you could copy and paste in to a reply, to save a lot of time I have already found the data for BSP threads in a link as shown below, what I also would like to get are the following.
METRIC coarse
METRIC fine
SAE
UNC
UNF

I cut and pasted their information directly into a spreadsheet a few days ago.

Are you pointing your EV to a spread sheet? Or are you pulling out jsut the information you require and adding it to a .dat file to satisfy the headings in the table I posted?

I found the .xml in the modelling standards directory. Are can I therfore use this file to point the thread function to as well for external threads? Bare with me on this, as you are dealing with a rank amature when it comes to this type of config?

Since inside the Insert - Design feature - Thread, there is a choice "Symbolic / Detailed"
-I assume that both "Symbolic / Detailed" i this dialog use the old table.
Anyhow, i re-wrote the old metric table many years ago since the values for the metric threads were (probably) adapted to Inch -drills and not metric drills. ( i.e in the metric world we select a 5mm drill for an M6 thread and not a 5.1881mm drill.)
I then also... divided the table into preference "Preference class 1" and "Preference class other"
( Where typically M5, M6, M8 , M10 etc is in pref 1
and M5.5x0.5 , M7x1, M9x1 etc is in "Preference other")

According to the Eng-Tips records, Hudson888 made his last post on September 1, 2011, however the records do show that he last logged into Eng-Tips this past August (August 3, 2012 to be exact).
