CATIA FEM- Error

CATIA FEM- Error

CATIA FEM- Error

(OP)
Hi to all
I opened one Part/Assembly in GAS/GPS Workbench for Analysis. But it Shows one Error/ Warning message that
'Part Body is empty or External View is not defined'
I hope the 'External view ' is required only for Surface model
Could you please suggest me one remedial solution ?
Situation
The assembly contains,
One casting, Matrerial Aluminium Alloy
2 cylinder and Plunger(just like shock Absorber)- and it is recomended/supposed to consider as a bar(1D) element(?)
(Is it pssible in CATIA one part is Solid(solid tetrahedron element and one part is bar element(1 D element)??)
3 A load of 1600 N applied at the top of the part
please give me a reply
thanking u in advance
Anil

RE: CATIA FEM- Error

A CatPart may be built as multiple part bodies (green gear symbol). If that is the case, GPS always tries to mesh the first part body. If your structure is not in that first partbody, then you need to change it or to assemble all the part bodies into one.

Also, by definition, GPS is a 3D mesher, so if you don't have any solids in your part body, then it can mesh it.

Those might be the two causes of your problems that I know of.

Hope this helps.
