Hi Guys
I need to draw a helix but not in the z (default direction) I'm using nx8 and the avalible options is point constructor but I cant change the plane ?

Hi,

Unfortunatly, at this time, you need to turn the WCS. But, i read that this function will be enhanced in 8.5 available at the end of october.

thanx for reply but I did it already :)
you need to draw a line in the y direction and then when you isnert the helix press the button define orinetation and then select the line

Hi,

You didn't understand my answer. Don't forget that the helix is not associative to any Datum Csys

I assume that you need to draw an helix along the Y absolute axis

Format/ WCS / Rotate / -Xc Axis 90°

Create the helix with default orientation value

So, your helix will be along the Zc Axis (equal to the Y absolute)
