Construction Grade or Standard Grade

(OP)
Hello,

I am working with Canadian Standard CSA 086. I want to specify 4x2 joists but when I look at the table 531B for specified strengths for Light frame grades, I do not know what's the difference between Construction Grade and Standard Grade. Anyone who can help me?... Thanks!!!

RE: Construction Grade or Standard Grade

In the USA we have NDS which will give you specific info. You might want to use that or the Canadian equal. Also APAWOOD on the net might be helpful

RE: Construction Grade or Standard Grade

Are you asking what the difference is from a design standpoint (i.e. how strong they are), how you specify it, or what the physical differences are?
