Save Modified Documents

(OP)
I just upgraded to SW2102, SP4.0. When I open a read-only subassy, modify it, and close it, I get the Save Modified Documents window, that lists the modified assy. The options are Keep All, Discard All, Cancel, and Help. I was assuming Keep All meant keep changes (try to save it) and Discard All meant revert to the previous saved version. But when I hit Keep All, it doesn't try to save it, and when I hit Discard All, it gives me a message that it can't overwrite the document. Did they get the buttons backwards? I looked at help, and it doesn't even mention these buttons. Google comes up with nothing.

Any thoughts?

RE: Save Modified Documents

The key word there was "read-only", you need to take ownership of the assembly or do a "save as" and rename the assembly/parts as required.

David,

Thanks for the response.

I often open up a read-only assy to look at something, or do a what if, then close it. I actually have the box in the Save Modified Documents dialog checked "Do not save read-only", which grays out the Save Selected option. Neither Keep All or Discard All do anything, except Discard All tells me I can't save because it is read only. This seems to make no sense, so I was looking for some guidance.
