Material Liabry in Team Center

Material Liabry in Team Center

Material Liabry in Team Center

(OP)
We are trying to setup our material library to reference materials within the TeamCenter environment. We want to make it such that the material properties are available to everyone and if something changes in the library that it also changes on the part level automatically. Any Suggestions?

So far I think we are going to have to setup a network location because we can't figure out how to store this data inside TeamCenter.

As always... Thanks Guys!

RE: Material Liabry in Team Center

We gave up on that and are focussing on a Knowledge Fusion app driven from Excel via a SQL database so everyone is on the same page and that it can be updated easily by an administrator.

HTH some what,
Ryan

Ryan,

Thanks for the reply. I really do appreciate it. Can you tell me why you gave up or explain the SQL DB you refer to and how that ties in to TeamCenter or NX?

Thanks a ton!

RE: Material Liabry in Team Center

We are a sheet metal fabricator and currently the material tools in NX seem to us to be disjointed and lacking across environments. We tie a lot of information to material concerning sheet metal. All the normal attributes, but also a myriad of gauges/thicknesses, and literally hundreds of combinations of press brake tooling that dermines the parts I.D. bend radius. This is all reliant on (4) different attributes that will generate a given radius. Material type, thickness, press brake punch, press brake die.

These tables/charts need to be updated and added to all the time when we buy new tooling or deal with new materials. We are a job shop so we run the gambit.

So we decided on a Knowlege Fusion app that is edited/input via excel by an administrator. That set of tables is updated and loaded into SQL. Once that is updated all users have access to that database in NX via the Knowlege Fusion app. The KF app populates the NX model and then back fills into Teamcenter.

Hope this helps.
