Disabling Command Manager
Disabling Command Manager
(OP)
SWX Friends,
I have my toolbars setup the way that expedites my work and prefer to not use the Command Manager. However, every time I start SWX and open a file the CM is there. I have to go to Tools->Customize and uncheck Enable Command Manager. If I open SWX without a file open the Customize is not available under Tools. Do any of you know how to disable the CM so I don't have to do it each time I start SWX?
Thanks in advance,

RE: Disabling Command Manager
I deselected the CM shortly after it was implemented and have never had a problem with it returning.

RE: Disabling Command Manager
Thanks for the suggestion. However, this turns out to be an alternative to Tools->CM->uncheck. I did as you suggested then closed my files and reopened SWX. When I opened a file the CM was there - AGAIN!
I looked in Help and found what I described above, but could find no other references to disabling the CM. How did you find this alternative method?
I don't recall always having this problem so it has me scratching my head wondering what might have changed. I am a daily user of SWX and have been since it came out, currently on SWX2012SP4.0. I reboot my machine every day.
It is nice that it is only something like this that is annoying me and not something catastrophic. Still, I'd like to make this annoyance go away.

RE: Disabling Command Manager
Close SolidWorks
Open the registry
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > SolidWorks > SolidWorks 2012 > User Interface > Toolbars
Double-click CommandManager On
Change the value to 0
Close the registry
Open SolidWorks
RE: Disabling Command Manager
I don't know how you come up with some of the stuff you do, but THANKS (a star for you, of course)! I went to the Regedit and did as you suggested. I found that the value was already at 0 but I toggled it anyway. I then rebooted my machine and Viola (that is my aunt's name) NO COMMAND MANAGER! Yay!!
Thanks again for your great help!!
