Assembly Relation st4
Assembly Relation st4
(OP)
Hello, I would like to ask help and guidance on the following matter.
Im working on an assembly created by other people with quite a large parts in the assembly. It have relation with most of the component. I know that if I select one part the relation of that component will show at pathfinder. Here are my question:
1. A lot of parts within the assembly are assign with 'ground relation' which I want to remove. I need to select one by one and try to predict which part it has. Are they any way to show all relation?
2. A part in sub-assembly that have assign relation with main assembly would not show the relation panel in the pathfinder. Any way to show it?
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

RE: Assembly Relation st4
1. Any part in your assembly that is grounded, will have a little blue ground symbol on the top right of the yellow part/assembly symbol in the PathFinder.
2. If you want to see the relationships of a part in a sub-assembly, you'll have to open the sub-assembly (or edit the assembly in-place), select the part and you'll see the relationships in the PathFinder. If you want to see the relationships of your sub-assembly with components of your assembly, just click on the sub-assembly in the PathFinder. It is not the part of your sub-assembly which has relationships with your main assembly, it is the entire sub-assembly. Unless it's an adjustable assembly, in that case clicking on the part will show the relationships in the pathfinder.

One issues I have is when I work on large assemblies with a lot of parts that shows in pathfinder. To search a part I want I need to look and scan on each part name from top to bottom. Any method to search and jump/highlight to my wanted part in pathfinder?

RE: Assembly Relation st4
Right Click on the box at the top of the query menu and set the option to "Name"
Then type part of the filename you are looking for and click the green curly arrow next to the box.
Any part or assembly with that string in the filename will be highlighted ie. selected in the pathfinder and the model window.
Any query you do with this method will stay with the file and will be available from the drop-down list.

And of course you have the opposite to find the assembly part from pathfinder - Right click on the part in pathfinder > More > Zoom To
