Measuring curved panel thickness

Measuring curved panel thickness

Measuring curved panel thickness

(OP)
Hi guys,

I'm having trouble measure the overall thickness of a panel. The panel is slightly contoured in two directions and i would like to know the the overall height of the panel if it was sitting on a ground plane. Kind of like measuring the height of a diner plate when its placed on a table.

RE: Measuring curved panel thickness

Create a plane in the direction of height. Create extremum points both min and max in the direction of the newly created plane.
If you had the CCV module you could apply a stock box to the panel along a given direction.
I attached a bounding box script. I have not used it in a long time as I have created a UDF.

Regards,
Derek
