MONTREAL - A large section of the roof blew off the top of Montreal’s Maurice Richard Arena on Thursday, apparently by the force of powerful winds.

Part of the roof, about the size of a couple of school buses, tumbled down ..."

Looks like the roofing peeled off. Hardly what you would call a collapse, but that's journalism these days...

Anybody know what type roofing and structure are involved?

Sensitive area of town for the newshounds, very close to the Big 'O', Montreal's 1976 olympic stadium, which has had numerous noteworthy collapses over the years (roof structure x 2, post tensioned beams, etc...).

The O stadium was a real intelligent application of precast... nearly each piece was different...
