RE: mesh refinement in workbench

Unless you have ANSYS V14, there is no nodal interaction within the Workbench Environment.

There are many options within Workbench for mesh refinement: Element Sizing, Method Specification, Mapped Meshing, Sphere of Influence, Virtual Topography, the list goes on. You can select a face to define specific meshing properties for that face, which seems like what you want to do.

There are a lot of resources out there for meshing (you should feel free to search yourself!) but I'll suggest these two links:

http://www1.ansys.com/customer/content/documentati... (official ansys document)

http://ansys.net/tips_sheldon/STI0801_Meshing.pdf (ansys.net/tips_sheldon very good resource)

Hope this helps...
