Orient view tool - Rendering style

Orient view tool - Rendering style

Orient view tool - Rendering style

(OP)
Hi,
is it possible to set the rendering style in shaded mode in the orient view tool on edit view, if the view is in wireframe rendering style ?
For complex view as plastic parts or assembly view, it's difficult to understand in million lines.

Thank you...

Using NX 8 and TC9.1

RE: Orient view tool - Rendering style

Not that I'm aware of. You will need to change the Shading Style of the original view before entering the 'Oreint View Tool' and then change the edited view back afterwards. Perhaps you could automate these steps with a Journal or something.

RE: Orient view tool - Rendering style

Actually, it doesn't.

The 'View Style' options only effects the preview of the NEXT new view being created. It has NO effect whatsoever on the separate 'preview' window used when you're editing the orientation of an existing view. Instead, it inherits the view style of the view being edited.

Now don't get me wrong, I think it would be a nice enhancement to allow a user to MB3 inside the separate 'preview' window and be given the opportunity to change the 'style' of the preview being done at that moment, and so if anyone agrees with me, place contact GTAC and have them open an ER (Enhancement Request) to this effect.

John, You are definetly correct in your last statement, but Cuba happened in the first post here mix the words with the pictures,
He says "on edit view" but the attached picture is from "place base view" dialog, only there you get a preview window.
There is no preview when editing the orientation. ( -Not in my NX801 install.)
- And then, in the "orient base view" your note "NEXT new view" fully applies.

Tomas

RE: Orient view tool - Rendering style

You say that you're NOT getting a small preview 'window' when you select the 'Oreint View Tool' icon on the Edit Base View dialog:

RE: Orient view tool - Rendering style

No, i say that when Editing an existing view, there is no preview. See attached image.
You are in the state of creating the view.

And i say that in the state that you are in, one can control the display mode before opening up the orient- preview window by changing the preview mode.

Tomas

RE: Orient view tool - Rendering style

If you wish to use the 'Orient View Tool' to change the orientation of an existing Drawing view, this is NOT where you go to do that. Instead of 'Style...', select the 'Edit...' option when you press MB3 over a drawing view. As long as the view that you selected was a Base view, you will see the 'Orint View Tool' icon on the Edit View dialog.
