Relative contact motion

(OP)
Please help, I really need some inspiration from other FEA users.

I have a problem involving contact between two objects, and the objects move relative to each other, could you please share some experiences of how you achieve this in FEA programmes. I am currently using ABAQUS.

Thank-you.

RE: Relative contact motion

First of all note that there is an ABAQUS specific forum within the 'Engineering Computer Programs' subset.

I can't speak to ABAQUS but in ANSYS you would achieve this with a coupling constraint. A quick google for 'Abaqus Coupling Constraint' provided what appears to be some valuable information....

Hope that helps,
-Ian
