What is the chemical composition of EN 24 and in which standard it comes under? Is it a prehardened material or we have to harden it after preliminary machining if required?

EN 24 is to British Standard 970 1955 ie old.
and is now equivalent to BS 970 1991 817M40 it is also equivalent ti AISE/SAE 4340 It is 1.5% nickel chrome molly steel

In the UK it can be geneally bought to T condition with a tensile range ot  850/1000 N/mm^2 or normalised and later heat treated. What application do you want it for?
